Bellow Sealed Valves feature a distinct design that enhances traditional gland packing with a metal bellow cartridge. This cartridge is securely welded to the valve bonnet at one end and to the stem at the other. The bellow itself resembles a long, flexible accordion-like tube that expands and contracts in sync with the movement of the valve stem.
Sealed Wet Zone: To protect the gland area from any process fluids, the stem is entirely encased by a metallic bellow in the wet zone. This comprehensive coverage ensures that no fluids can reach beyond this barrier.
Leak Prevention: Given that the stem is the only component in motion, it presents a risk of leaks due to continuous friction. However, the metallic bellow plays a crucial role in preventing such leaks by obstructing the leak path, thus ensuring that the media remains completely isolated from both the stem and the gland.
At Forxar Industries, we opt for hydroformed bellows despite their higher cost because they last much longer than welded bellows. This ensures better performance and fewer replacements for our customers.
